Looking For Work? We Can Help You

Working during your studies is an ideal way of making friends, building confidence, learning new skills and improving your finances. Personal development in the work place is essential for life after university so it’s best to start as soon as possible, not wait until you have graduated!

The Careers & Employability Service support students with their quest to secure work both during and after university. Our dedicated team will assist you in the application process; from applications, CVs and covering letters to interviews, assessment tests and selection days. You can also arrange a practice interview to go over some typical questions and how best to answer them.

Careersonline

Our online portal; Careersonline, is a good starting point. From here you can:

  • Search for part-time, full-time, volunteering and placement vacancies
  • Set email alerts to receive details about new vacancies (both local and national)
  • Find out about on-campus or virtual careers events
  • Submit your CV to be checked by an adviser
  • Book an appointment to speak with one of our Employability Advisers (these are currently being offered via Zoom for your safety during the Covid-19 pandemic)

How to access your jobs/careers portal

Click the button below and login using your student username and password.

Please note: when you login for the first time, it is a good idea to edit your profile (select your profile from the top right hand icon) so that you can opt to receive regular job updates via email should you wish to do so. You can specify the type of job updates you wish to receive such as part-time, full-time, graduate or voluntary work and those which are in specific sectors. You can also opt to receive updates from TARGETconnect which advertises graduate vacancies across the UK.

Coming soon

Forthcoming developments with Careersonline include virtual careers fairs, employer information and links to work and career resources. These will be added to the portal over the coming months.

You will find a host of additional information resources on the Careers & Employability Service website.
